The Energy Lectures London...

Theme

We are in an unprecedented period for energy policy; with the overarching goals being to secure energy supplies and deliver energy at 'affordable' prices, at the same time as attempting to meet extremely ambitious environmental targets. Are these aims contradictory? What will be the cost to UK plc? And how can UK businesses prepare for the uncertain future?

Background

'The energy challenge is one of the greatest tests faced by Europe today. Rising energy prices and increasing dependence on energy imports jeopardise our security and our competitiveness. Key decisions have to be taken to reduce drastically our emissions and fight climate change. What is more, huge investments - of around 1 trillion euros - will be needed in the next decade to make Europe's installations and infrastructure fit for the future'.

Gunther H. Oettinger, European Commissioner for Energy

Audience

The Energy Lectures - for energy procurement specialists, energy managers and senior management teams - were set up last year to offer energy intensive user organisations access to a new kind of forum: – a series of content-rich lectures of real quality and relevance, given by the very best experts in their field.
